When you book a repair or maintenance visit with us in San Francisco, you’ll know who’s coming to your door before they arrive. We send every customer the name and photo of their technician ahead of time, and that technician shows a photo ID badge when you answer. The crew below are the people who actually run calls across the city, from the Sunset to the Mission to Bayview. They’re background-checked, identity-verified, and held to one standard we call the Threshold Standard. You’ll recognize the face at the door because it’s the same face we sent you. Here’s who we are.
Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Service Technician
Marcus has been turning wrenches on residential HVAC equipment for 14 years, and he’s spent the last six with Brandt HVAC. He holds his EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling and has deep field time on Carrier, Trane, and Goodman systems. Marcus is the guy we send when a diagnosis isn’t obvious: a furnace that short-cycles only on foggy mornings, a heat pump that makes a noise like a coin in a dryer, an AC that cools half a house and ignores the other half. He lives in the Outer Sunset and still gets a little satisfaction out of fixing a unit someone else swore needed replacing.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena leads our installation work and has 11 years in the trade, with a specialty in tight mechanical closets and older San Francisco homes where nothing is square and the previous owner “improved” things with drywall screws. She’s NATE-certified in air conditioning installation and approaches every job the same way: measure twice, cut once, and leave the workspace cleaner than she found it. Elena can explain a Manual J load calculation in plain English without making you feel talked-down-to, which is rarer than it should be. Off the clock, she’s restoring a 1940s cottage in the Richmond, so she knows exactly what your plaster walls are hiding.
Dana K. – Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice you’ll hear most often when you call. She’s been coordinating service schedules for six years and keeps the daily dispatch board running without making anyone feel rushed. Dana is the one who takes your call at 2 a.m. when a furnace dies in January or an AC gives up during a September heat wave. She listens, asks the right questions, and gets a technician routed to you with a realistic arrival window, not a vague “sometime today.” When she says a technician will be there, she means it. If a delay ever happens, she calls you before you have to call us.
Andre B. – Apprentice Technician
Andre is two years into his HVAC apprenticeship and came to us from a pre-apprenticeship program in the East Bay. He rides along with Marcus on most calls, hauling tools, checking static pressure, and learning how to diagnose a bad capacitor versus a failing compressor without guessing. Andre shadows every repair and reports back on what he observed, which means a second set of eyes on every job he touches. It also means he’s getting trained the old way: watch, ask, do it right, then do it again. He’s already earning his own positive reviews from customers who appreciate a kid who explains what he’s doing and why.
Styles & brands we work with

One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this page works under the same promise, no matter the call. Before any work starts, you get a written price. You see it, you agree to it, and only then do we pick up a tool. That applies to a $12 capacitor and a full system replacement, and there are no exceptions. Every repair includes a written guarantee that states exactly what it covers and for how long. If that repair fails inside the guarantee period, we return and fix it at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s not a marketing line. It’s how we run the schedule. And because each Brandt HVAC location is independently owned and operated, the crew in San Francisco answers for this city’s work directly. Devin Marlowe, Owner, set that standard here, and the team above is the one who delivers it. Phones are answered by a live person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that person is usually Dana.

AfterWhy the Name Brandt?
Brandt comes from an old word for a firebrand, a piece of burning wood that carries heat from one place to another. That idea of moving warmth where it’s needed sits at the center of what we do. A furnace in Noe Valley on a cold July evening, a heat pump in the Excelsior working through a wet winter, an AC unit in the Mission on a 90-degree October afternoon. The equipment changes, the neighborhoods change, but the job doesn’t: get heat or cooling where it belongs, at a price you saw before we started. The team on this page understands that, and it shows in how they work.
How Our Team Is Verified
We use the Threshold Standard, which means every technician you see listed here has passed a background check and an identity verification before they ever knock on a door. They’re uniformed. They’re badged. And they arrive only after you’ve been told their name and shown their photo. If someone shows up who you were not told to expect, that visit is on us and we make it right. That standard applies to Marcus, Elena, Andre, and every technician who wears the Brandt HVAC uniform in San Francisco. It’s a simple rule: you should never wonder who’s in your hallway.
Call and Ask Who’s Coming
If you’d like to request a specific technician or just want to know who’s on the schedule for your neighborhood, call us. A live person answers, day or night. We’ll tell you who’s coming, when they’ll arrive, and what to expect from the visit. Written price before any work starts. Written guarantee on every repair. That’s how the team above operates, and that’s what you’ll get.
